Date and Guava Jam

A delicious date and guava recipe you can serve as a jam or sauce. As a jam it goes well with a piece of toast and as a sauce it goes well with waffles. If you’d like to use it as a sauce it will be best to serve it immediately. And if you’d like to serve it as a jam it will be best to let it stand overnight in order to become more jelly like.

For this specific recipe I didn’t remove the pits. Had I known how bothersome the pits would be I would’ve cut the parts with the pits off or something. Unfortunately it’s a bit difficult to remove pits from a guava but next time I will surely try. Pits beside…I hope you will enjoy this recipe.

Date and Guava Jam

Total Time: 15 minutes

Serving Size: 4 people

Date and Guava Jam

  • 1 cup Dates
  • 1 cup Boiling Water
  • 2 Guavas
  • 1 tablespoon Lemon Juice
  • ¼ teaspoon Himalayan Salt
  • ⅛ teaspoon Ginger

  1. Add the dates and boiling water to a blender. Let the dates soak for approximately five minutes.
  2. Peel the guavas and cut them into smaller pieces. Cut away any unwanted parts and try to remove as much pits as possible.1
  3. Blend the guava pieces, dates and water together.
  4. Add the lemon juice, salt and ginger to the blender.
  5. Blend all together again.
  6. Serve!2

1. You can leave the pits if you prefer.

2. The longer you let the mixture stand the more jelly like it will become. When it’s fresh it’s more like a guava sauce.
