Crunchy Oven-Baked Potato Chips

The Eating Aspect:

We usually make this recipe with our main meal and not as a full meal by itself. So this recipe should be enough for a side-dish. If you would like to eat only chips for lunch or dinner, I would suggest you adapt this recipe by adding more potatoes.

The Timing Aspect:

This healthy potato chips recipe needs to be baked just the right amount of time in the oven. If it’s not baked the correct amount of time your fries might not be as crunchy as you have hoped for. 

The Lemon Juice Aspect: 

When I attended the detox lifestyle center, I noticed that they sprinkled lemon juice over their potato chips. It was the first time in my life I saw people doing this. It was very strange for me. I tried their method instead of using vinegar over my fries. It was hard to give up vinegar at first, but once I started using lemon juice instead I loved it much more than vinegar. Which is actually a very good thing… 

Crunchy Oven-Baked Potato Chips

Prep Time: 5 minutes

Cook Time: 40 minutes

Total Time: 45 minutes

Serving Size: 2 people

Crunchy Oven-Baked Potato Chips


  • 4 medium-sized Potatoes (Unpeeled)
  • 2 tablespoons Olive Oil
  • ¾ teaspoon Paprika
  • ½ teaspoon Herbal Salt1


  1. Wash the potatoes and cut them into French fries.
  2. Cover a shallow baking pan with aluminium foil.
  3. Spray the foil with cooking spray.
  4. Place the potatoes on the foil and drizzle with olive oil.
  5. Sprinkle the paprika and salt over the potatoes.
  6. Mix all gently until all the potatoes are coated in oil.
  7. Bake in the oven on high (270°C/518°F) for 40 minutes.2
  8. Serve with lemon juice. Yum! 3


1. You can use Himalayan Salt instead of Herbal Salt.

2. The oven times and heat temperature may vary since we use a gas stove.

3. Can serve with lemon juice instead of vinegar or tomato sauce (ketchup).
